Highlights: Cross country skiing, camping on Drangajökull glacier, geothermal formed ice craters, two nights in a hut beside a geothermal swimming pool.
In the spring, we´ll be offering one six days ski touring trip on Drangajökull Glacier and over to Reykjafjörður Fjord on the north side of Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. This area is the perfect place to practice your winter travel skills in a safe and fun environment. Starting from Kaldalón on the south side, we begin skiing up the slopes of the glacier and camp for two nights on the glacier. En route , we´ll look at the magnificent ice craters formed by geothermal heat under the glacier. Then we ski down to Reykjafjörður Fjord for two overnight stays in a hut beside a geothermal swimming pool. There is no road connection or electricity in the fjord and a great chance that we´ll be the only souls around! Last night is spent on the glacier on the way back to civilization.
